Delete Mysql Error Log?

My Mysql host.********.com.err log is nearly 180MB :eek:

Is it safe to just delete it, or do I need to do anything special?

You may want to check out the last dozen or so lines before you do, so you can do something about all those errors being generated.

Thanks Lats. I'll just rename it for now, and see what happens, then delete it next week.

It's just annoying as I backup the server to my PC every day, and and extra 170MB will be a decent chunk off the load.

If that's the case, then sure - it will be recreated if needed.

The file is 2 years old in all, and the errors are from when I had to reboot the server every day, until I recently updated ALL the server scripts.....what a happy job that was ;)
