Excite Delivers with InterMail
According to the agreement, Software.com will become Excite's primary Web-based e-mail provider effective this fall. No financial details were disclosed.
Designed specifically for large-scale user environments, InterMail will be the long-term platform for Excite's future e-mail services, which are targeted at the domestic market, the firms stated. Excite's network of sites reportedly reaches over 20 million unique consumers each month.
Excite said it will create a custom interface for its service, while leveraging InterMail's WebMail Server for optimum scalability, giving it the ability to meet the demands of ever- changing network conditions.
