What is sidereal astrology?

    in tropical astrology im virgo but in side real im leo.

  • Planet Earth wobbles along its axis as it turns around the sun. Tropical astrology doesn't take that "wobble" into account and uses mathematical calculation (30 degrees) to calculate your sign. So it doesn't really change depending on what year you're born in; if you were born on 1/1/1080 or 1/1/2080, you'd be considered a capricorn.

    Sidereal astrologists apparently do take that "wobble" into account, as well as the fact that every year is not necessarily "365 days". Sidereal Astrology actually aligns a bit better with the night sky, so that on your sidereal birthday, if you're a capricorn, then you'd see capricorn in the sky.

    sidereal astrology is also used by Indian astrologists (who do not use outer planets past saturn), so in Indian astrology, they'd say you were a leo, not virgo.

    sidereal astrology provides a bit different description in terms of what that means, but just as tropical, sun, moon, mars, venus, mercury in this are just as important; it's just a different system.
