It is probably two years old. It is a 56 gallon water heater and it has an Energy Saving device attached to it. In the past, I had to reset the Energy Saving device several times because the water heater will stop working. Yesterday there was no hot water so I reseted the energy saving device but still there was no hot water. I also reseted the breaker this morning (just in case) but still didn't work. Is there anything I can do?The heating element is probably bad.You are going to have to do some electrical testing to find the problem. I would start by making sure that you have power coming into the heater from your breaker box. Then test each individual component of the electrical system, the energy saving devise, the thermostat, the heating element. Your heater is probably still under warranty. Check the owners manual or contact Whirlpool. They will supply you with a new part but unfortunately you need to know what part needs replacing. Good luck. Sorry I can't be more specific. You dont have to guess. http://appliancequickfix.com/ has a step by step rundown on how to test and repair.was breaker tripped?,you have a reset in top thermostat, red button,or is wire undersized? If it is a standing pilot, you might want to clean the thermocouple. I doubt that it is if it's energy efficient.
