  • i started using denorex in 1987 with great results. it can not be
    purchased in australia so i had to import it. i imported enough to
    last till the end of last year. since then i have had bleeding dry
    scalp from every prep i have tried. the new salacylic acid formula i
    imported iritates my scalp.how can i get the old forumala or the old prereration?

    I did a little research on your question. I can not find the exact formula for the original denorex, however, I think I have some informaiton that will help with your problem. A visit to the denorex website shows there are now 3 different formulas. The denorex extra strength is formulated with the salycilic acid, which apparently irritates your scalp. The Denorex everyday formula (http://www.denorex.com/everyday.htm) is formulated with 2% pyrithione zinc, and I would suspect this is the active ingredient you have used in the past.   • hi thanks for that info, however i was aware that there was a zinc formula available. the original denorex i used was a coaltar prep with menthol and a herb scent. it was called mountain fresh. i had used coaltar preps here but they were very drying and left my scalp like a mini snowstorm. the denorex on the other hand was gentle enough touse every day and cleansing enough for me to be able to wear dark siuts without looking like i had been in the snow. i really need that old formula.
