What is a good summary for the book Eragon?

I've read the book, and this is not a school assignment (I don't cheat ;O) BUT. I need a real nice summary of this book so I can study it and REMEMBER it so I can make a good grade on my AR test. Many thanks! If you have read the book, then you have a summary already in your mind. Ask yourself "What happens in this book?" Then write down exactly what you say, and edit a little to make it sound more articulate.

Please don't use this word for word; try and put the basic idea into your own words.

The book Eragon is the story of a young farm boy who one day discovers a strange blue stone in the Spine, a mountain range near his home. Eragon is filled with curiosity as to the stone, but intends to sell it to buy meat for his family. One night, he hears strange noises coming from the stone. The stone turns out to be a dragon's egg when it hatches. Eragon finds himself pulled into a world filled with magic, mystery, and adventure...

Use that basic idea, but please write your own summary. A good summary is the one YOU write explaining the story in your own words.
  • Take "A Wizard of Earthsea", one of any of Anne McCaffery's Pern books, and "The Fellowship of the Ring".

    Put in blender, mix.

    Voila. Eragon.
